Somewhere Over the Rainbow

We  have been incredibly busy this last couple of weeks as we headed into the final rehearsal stages for The Wizard of Oz.  Samuel works with a group called Christian Youth Theatre (CYT) and has been involved with them since he was 6 years old.  This is his 4th production with them, and he has had a BLAST!
The kids had to audition to perform the curtain speech at the beginning of the show.  They pair the kids up, so typically there are 2 kids for each performance.  Samuel auditioned, and was selected to do the curtain speech for EVERY show!  We are so proud of him!  He is doing a great job with it!
This is a scene with Glinda, Dorothy and the munchkins.  Samuel is on the right in the blue suit.  He is the City Father Munchkin.  Below is the picture that was in the newspaper.  This is when the munchkins first meet Dorothy.  Aren't they cute?
In this picture, Samuel his a part of a trio of crows, that mock the scarecrow.  It's hiliarious!!   These boys are one of the highlights of the show.  Samuel has a very fun solo part in their song that he really does a great job with!

The entire cast getting the cast photo taken.  Good looking group of kis!
Samuel is saying his lines to pronounce the witch dead!
The boy in the purple shorts is one of Samuel's best buds.  He's a part of the lollipop guild.
Samuel and the coroner after they pronounce the witch dead
Samuel is a part of the advanced dance team - in the Jitterbug dance, he's the cutest little Jitterbug on stage!

We have one more weekend of shows, and then we'll say goodbye to the witches, the wizard and the yellow brick road...and we'll be off to more wonderful adventures!
