A Day in The Life

Some of you may be wondering what exactly does Jacob do all day? I am sure, that in all of the spare time you have, you ponder this questions often. What exactly is the life of a 9 month old like? Jacob has it pretty good, I must say. Our big boy (we are estimating about 25 lbs - we'll know Friday at his 10 month check up) is just about as jolly as you find them! With his head full of curls and his big chubby cheeks, he is a site to behold as he scoots around the house in his walker. He loves his wheels! One of his favorite activities is to run, squeeling with glee, through the house, chasing Samuel. Samuel, of course, delights in this as well and baits Jacob in his best big boy voice, "come on baby, come and get your brother". Then they are off, on a tear through the house! Over the last month, he has learned several new tricks. Not only is he crawling, but he gets some significant speed!

His little legs seem to stay red from all of the racing he does upstairs and down! My little snuggle bug would much rather explore on his own than be held, but he still comes back to mommy for hugs and kisses. My favorite is when he rests his head on my shoulder and he pats me on the back. Those days are fading fast, so I am taking all I can get! He can also pull up and stand and chooses to do so on anything and everything. He loves to pull up on the toys in the game room and is into everything! His favorite is to stand up in his crib and greet you with a squeal and a giggle after nap or when he wakes up in the morning - personally, that is my favorite too! His sippy cup has been a big trick since he was about 8 months old, but he seeks it out now. If he doesn't have a drink with his meal, he gets quite fussy! (demanding, I think!) He seems to be hitting all the major milestones, and thrilled us a couple of weeks ago with saying "hi" for the first time. He was really practicing. He would mouth the word and kind of push a little breath behind it. Then, at breakfast, I said "HI JACOB" and he said "HI". So cute! He has said it a couple of more times, and waved hello at someone in a store, so he is catching on!

Jacob loves the pool. He gets in and if we lay him on his back, he kicks like a little fish and splashes his hands. He really enjoys watching Samuel show off and was quite taken with skinny dipping. And, when mommy and daddy are working, he gets all the love he can from Meghan and Samuel - and that's a lot of love!
