Olympic Swimming

Boys grow so fast. It wasn't three weeks ago that we were swimming in John's pool and Samuel wouldn't jump in, wouldn't go under water and didn't want to swim with Pop Pop or Uncle John. Now, he is sliding down the slide into the pool, jumping in by himself, going under water, trying to swim on his own and doing a great job! He'll be the first to tell you that his dad taught him how to do all that! He didn't take long either - some fatherly advice, genuine support and the best cheerleading you ever saw. Dads are good at that kind of stuff!

Jacob is into another kind of swimming - skinny dipping. He was footloose and fancy free as he kicked his legs and giggled his way around the pool in nothing but his birthday suit. We don't make a habit of him swimming naked. . .you know, pee and all. . .but this was a last minute dip before bed, so we stripped him down and jumped in. He LOVED it! He wiggled and giggled and shook his tush in the water. It was hilarious. So, now I know who I will be catching down at the lake skinny dipping when they are teenagers. . .
